    Alan,

Likewise. I am now the carer for my Mother after having had a range of jobs the most interesting but at times most stressful being teaching.
If you still live in the West Birmingham area and fancy meeting up for a drink sometime my email is rbn.bird1@googlemail.com. There are some good pubs on the Hagley Road in the bearwood area.
    Regards.

    Hi ,
Message to all who were there in the very early 60s .I will never forget Polly Perkins .Close cropped hair ,blazer and a whistle which she blew often ! I was best friends with Barbara Hood and remember a girl Calle Rifat Mayen ? Also a girl who fainted and fell off a desk whilst modelling in an art class.I remember cleaning our hats with ammonia and we all nearly passed out !

  15. Richard Corbett says:

    Hi Jacqui,
I remember you and of course Miss, ( purple ), Berry. ( Purple cardigan, broach, skirt, blouse, ink, blotting paper. ) A holy colour but I wonder, could she have been a touch colour-blind? Sad to say we boys played her up but she would never punish or report. She would only stand there, chaos reigning with hands clasped round purple bible, saying ‘ ..boys, boys, you WILL be quiet ! ‘. We never were though.
Also your Polly Perkins who seemed never to take off that blazer + Miss Hood, English, Miss Wakefield, French & sundry / sultry chat, a nameless lady RE teacher, and many others. A novel there somewhere what with various goings on. Don’t know if you will see this but best wishes and do drop a line if poss.

My mother (Irene Jeffries) attended in the mid 40s and studied typing and shorthand. She frequently asks me to get her speed certificates out for her. She had a friend called Maureen Campbell and apparently they were known as the Dolly sisters. Having recently watched Mr Selfridge, my mind boggles somewhat 😊.
My mother would love to hear from anyone, and especially Maureen.

I am Robin Bird and was a day boy at Greenmore College from 1967 to 1969. My form teachers were in 4G Mr Fryer (aka Batman) who always wore a academic gown and made a superb job of teaching me Maths then in 5G Mr Britain who put me off Maths for years. My Geography Teacher was Mr Peter Oliver who I also had for the two years 1969 to 1971 that I attended Bournville College of Further Education. I enjoyed my time in 4G but hated my time in 5G.
