Stephanie Shorey: I attended Greenmore between January 1956 and October 1959. I started at the kindergarten down on Pershore Road – near the Edgbaston cricket ground, and I guess it would have been in September 1956 that I moved up to the junior school at 222 Bristol Road. I left before going on to the ‘senior’ school.

I though you may be interested in the attached photo which was taken, I think, in the summer of 1959 in front of 222 Bristol Road. The teacher was Mrs Hill and the class was 3A. Some names I can still remember…? I may have a few names and faces mixed up, but this is as best as I can recall. The photo was taken by me – that’s why I’m not there!! I didn’t stay in touch with anyone when I left, and have no idea where any of them would have gone after leaving Greenmore junior school.

Back row left to right – Peter Bennet, David Lancaster, Keith Humphries, Graham Smith, ???, Mrs Hill, David Merris, ??? , Anthony Snead, ??? .

Middle row – ???, Michelle Barrett?, Joyce Philips? Cheryl Diamond, Avril Lloyd, Sandra ?, Ann Harris, ??? .

Front row – Rosalind Green, ??? , Stuart?, Tim Peters, Margaret Billington.

I left Greenmore in Oct 1959 as my parents moved on business to Warwick. I went on to pass my 11+ thanks to the grounding given to me by Greenmore, and went to grammar school in Stratford upon Avon. After leaving grammar school, I went on to live in the Shetland Islands for many years, but now live in West Sussex.

I have fond memories of Greenmore. Thanks for the website.
